CHIROPRACTIC CARE DURING PREGNANCY KEEPS COMMON PREGNANCY PAINS AT BAY, IMPROVES BABY'S POSITIONING FOR BIRTH, REDUCES LABOR TIMES, DECREASES NEED FOR INTERVENTIONS, AND OVERALL, MAKES THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE MUCH GENTLER FOR MOTHER AND BABY.

Pregnancy is a precious, wonderful time, but growing a new life is also emotionally and physically taxing.  So many changes in a mother's body put pressure on joints, muscles and nerves, making proper alignment and optimized function of utmost importance.  As baby grows, mom's center of gravity shifts, ligaments loosen, and pain can often result.  Keeping the spine and pelvis in alignment throughout the pregnancy relieves the common aches and pains experienced by so many mothers.

Chiropractors specially trained in the care of pregnant moms use a specialized approach called the Webster Technique to keep the pregnant pelvis in balance and out of pain.  Once touted as a “breech-turning technique”, the Webster Technique is now utilized by specially-trained chiropractors on most prenatal patients to keep mom's sacrum and pelvic ligaments balanced, in order to allow for optimal fetal positioning and efficiency of labor and delivery.

Today’s parents are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of the mother’s pelvic biomechanics throughout pregnancy. Giving it due attention will not only result in a more comfortable pregnancy, but will optimize the baby’s developing systems in utero and contribute toward achieving optimal fetal positioning for a safer and easier birth for both mother and baby.
